This page documents how the operator of the Kyle Tech Corner home lab receives automated SMS notifications from his own self-hosted monitoring system, and how to opt in and out. The operator is the recipient of these alerts; no consumers or third parties are marketed to.

How opt-in works

Opt-in occurs inside the self-hosted home lab application, on the Settings → Notifications page. The operator enters his own mobile phone number and must check the consent checkbox below before SMS notifications are enabled. The "Enable SMS Alerts" control stays disabled until consent is given.

What messages you'll get

• System & uptime alerts — a host or service going down, and recovery notices.
• Monitoring & environment — resource thresholds (CPU, memory) and environmental/weather monitoring for the lab's location.
• Backup reports — confirmation that scheduled backups completed, or alerts if they failed.

Example: "Kyle Tech Corner Home Lab: Server media-01 is back online. CPU 12%, memory 43%. Reply STOP to opt out."

Message frequency & rates

Message frequency varies based on system events. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
